Kuririn [a.k.a Krillin] is Goku's best friend from way back in Dragonball. 
They trained together under Master Roshi. For most of DB & DBZ, 
Kuririn shaves his head. The reason for shaving his head [and the 
mysterious six dots on his forehead] is that he used to be a monk [of Orinji 
temple]. Kuririn goes with Gohan and Bulma to Namek, an attempt to 
gather the dragonballs and ressurect the casualties of Nappa and Vegeta. 
Later on the same planet, Goku arrives to kill Freeza. Freeza uses 
psychokenesis and crushes Kuririn, killing him. This is what pushes Goku 
over the edge and gives him the anger to go ssj. Kuririn [along with many 
others, including the feared Vegeta] is ressurected. In the time lapse 
between the end of the Cell saga and the begining of the Buu saga, many 
things happen for Kuririn. He marries #18, has a daughter named Marron, 
and grows his hair out ^_^. During the Buu saga, Kuririn receives treatment 
identical to that of Piccolo by Dabura [I've also seen it spelled Doubler]. 
Dabura spits on them both, turning them to stone. They are restored to 
normal status after Dabura is killed by Buu. Kuririn is very well known 
for his kienzan [destructo disc or whatever it's called in the dub o_O]. He 
holds his hand high above his head, palm face up. A blade of ki is then 
produced and hurled at the opponent. Kuririn helps Piccolo and Goku to 
teach Goten and Trunks how to fuse. Kuririn dies for good in DBGT by a 
ki blast to the chest by one of the android #17s [technically, everyone 
except Pan dies in DBGT... but you don't see it happen -- there's a 100 
year fast forwar].
