How might I find safe passage to the moon
Or sail across my own vast inner sea?
Alas, I am a phantom without warning,
Doomed to be left lucid at the door.
Ay me! I know the dance and hear the music
But cannot move without my mirror near.
Mysteries stand idle all around me,
And yet I fear to trust what they don't say.
Grant me, then, one wish before I wander,
Hoping to make sense of what I see:
Let me let myself just once be taken
By the hand of love to total darkness. |
