1996-97 Summary
The Mariners finished the 1997 season with the best record in the 90s.  Some highlights of the season were: crushing the cross town rival Cudahy Packers 57-36 in the first round of the St. Francis tournament, sweeping conference foes Pewaukee, New Berlin Eisenhower, Shorewood, and Whitnall, and a major highlight was defeating the Slinger Owls on a controversial last second shot by Jenna Maier, which went in to give St. Francis the victory, 37-35.
   Wendy Gagnon led the Parkland Conference in 3 point field goals made (28), she also led the conference in Free Throw % (87).  Wendy was also 3rd in the conference for scoring with 266 points. Jenna Maier was 2nd in the conference in rebounding, with 151 rebounds.  Finally Andrea Heger was 5th in the conference in 3 point field goals made with 15.
   Contributing for the Mariners were Julie Donnelly, Trina Gonzalez, Jenna Maier, Wendy Gagnon, Jessica Hornik, Andrea Heger, Lisa Lockwood, Aki Shibutani, Jamie Wier, Barb Kizaric, Lisa Zahn, and Jennifer Jones.
