More Interesting Photos (Pg. 4)
The patient in thes two pictures had recurrent sinus difficulties following sinus surgery.  He described thick mucus (behind uncinate remnant above) expelled from his nose which brought temporary relief, but the problem would recur.  At surgery he was found to have a complete ring of thickened mucus travelling between his natural and iatrogenic/accesory ostia.  Below: a suction tip is just visible inferiorly pulling on some tenacious, translucent nasal mucus.  The ostia were connected to eliminate this "recirculation ring" effect.
