HARDIN CARMICHAEL From Marshall County Democrat Lacon, Ill. November 4, 1909 Passing of an Old Resident Hardin Carmichael, one of the earliest residents of Marshall county died at his home in South Lacon last Thursday at the advanced age of 83 years. The deceased was born at Raleigh, N. C. May 21, 1826. He lived the early years of his life in Indiana and was married there when twentyone years old to Nancy Blankenship. To this union a large family was born, five of whom are living--- Simeon, Hardin, Ira, Melvin and Bert. The wife and mother went to her eternal rest in 1882. Mr Carmichael later married Mrs. Sarah Davis, who survives him. The funeral which was directed by Undrertaker Lenz, was held Saturday morning at 10:30 at the Crow Creek school house the services being conducted by a Dunkard minister from Bricktown. The remains were laid to rest in the Old Salem Cemetery. Mr. Carmichael is mourned by a wide circle of friends and relitives whos esteem he merited by the up (illegible) dealings with his fellow men and his devotion to his loved ones....... |
