* The Gift *

     There in the darkness am I, yet no fear conquers me.  I stand alone, and in the darkness  there is Light.  My enemies surround me; they seek to bring an end to my being -- but I trust  in The Lord and He gives me strength.  When I am melancholy, He puts a song in my heart .  When I am sick, Jesus stretches forth His hands and I am made whole.
     Jesus came not only to save me and give me eternal life in God's Holy Kingdom, but He  will also send the Comforter to give me peace.  He will give protection when I need it --- I  need but ask.  No worldly power can harm me.  Death cannot terrify me -- for in death there  is Jesus and He will take me Home.  He has a meal prepared for me, and a room is made  ready for me in His Father's House.  God loves me and has given me life  - -  and life eternal.
     I will keep His commandments, and I will do all He asks me to do.  When I have kept all of  His commandments and have done all He has asked me to do. ~~  What good am I? - -  for  I have only done that which was my duty to do.  What can I give to God?  He has given me  so much.  All that I have is His.  What can I give?   - - - -    Dear God, I have searched all that  I have and I have found only one thing that is mine to give --- It is my heart, and I now give it to You.
