Unlike Wes craven's The Last House on the Left and The Hills Have Eyes, this is a fantastic tale of purest supernatural horror, and is undoubtedly his finest excursion into the fantastique to date. It's a story in which dreams play a central and crucial role. A group of yound teenage friends in Los Angeles begin to share common nightmares about being chased and killed by a terrifying figure with razor sharp blades attached to the ends of his fingers. As the dreams become more horrifying so the teenagers begin to be found dead in their beds, horribly mutilated. In spite of the low budget, the special effects are striking: the scene in which a bed suddenly swallows its sleeping occupant and then emits a vast geyser of blood is especially memorable. Throughout the movie, Craven sustains an authentically spooky atmosphere and a effective feeling of suspense.

Amanda Wyss grew up in Manhattan Beach, a California suburb. She was a cheerleader and a member of the student council at Avlation High School and loves to dance and sing. Amanda started acting at the age of 12 and has received lots of encouragement since from family, especially her sister who is an actress in New York. She has appeared in many films, including A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) and Fast times at Ridgemont High (1982).
