Thinking about taking IB? This is what I have to say about it.

Since everybodylikes to brag about their home school, I'm going to do the same. I graduated from Lindsay Thruber Comprehensive High School in Red Deer Alberta, Canada (they don't have a web page yet - pathetic!). We had six diploma graduates and about 20 (I'm guessing) certificate graduates. Looking at other people's pages, my school seems a little small (some people had around 200 cert. students and 37 dip. students)! Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Red Deer is a small, Canadian town. Probably. Actually, having such small classes (one class comsisted of 10 people) allowed a large amount of teacher-student time and was really helpful.

LTCHS offered the IB program free to any student in Red Deer who was capable of taking the course. For this, I and the other graduates are forever indebted. That also explains why there were so few students: IB was not manditory like it is in some schools.

My HL subjects were History, Chemistry, and English. My SL subjects were Biology, French and Math (I'm just thankful that it wasn't HL). I also took TOK (lotsa fun) and wrote an extended essay on Sexual Abuse of Native Women in Canada (supervised by Mr. A. Epp). Yes, it was hard to find information on the subject!

My marks:

Major sources of stress: Mathematics, Extended Essay, CAS hours in activity, French class!
