January 30, 1999...

KATIE King had a monster game against Dirigo as she poured in a game high 25 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to go along with 3 blocked shots. The Hornets played tough against the perennial powerhouse, but eventually fell 62-49. Way to go Katie!

VAL Dumais had 10 points, 4 assists and 4 steals while CHANTAL St. Laurent added 7 points to lead the Blue Devils (11-0) to a 76-32 win over Sanford. SARAH Methvin had 2 points in the varsity game to go along with her 11 points and 11 rebounds in the JV game.

January 29, 1999...

Morning Sentinel: "Rookie of the Year: BETHANY Roderigue, a freshman at Winslow. Roderigue can play the point with poise and is a pure shooter. When she's on a roll, her 3 pointers go through without touching the rim. She went 4 for 4 from long range in the second half against Mt.View on Jan. 21."

Coach Methvin: "Our girls continue to collect praise and admiration... and it will only get more and more exciting as they continue to grow and take over the state with their talents, desires and achievements."

January 25, 1999...

KATIE Stailing is third in the KVAC at 22.7 PPG

KANDACE Jones is second in the MVC with 17.8 PPG

KATIE King is fourth in the MVC at 14.4 PPG

January 18, 1999...

BETHANY led Winslow in their 73-50 win over Wiscasset. She had 18 points, nine rebounds, four steals and four blocked shots. WOW! Winslow is now 10-2.

SARAH led the way with 21 points in a close win for Lewiston's JV over McAuley. She also had a bucket in the varsity game.

VAL had 10 points on some sharp shooting in the varsity's win 89-44. Lewiston is now 9-0.

KATIE King had 14 points in a loss to Jay on Saturday.

KANDACE continued her consistent play with 21 points in a win over Madison on Saturday.

January 12, 1999...

VAL dumped in 10 points to lead Lewiston to a Hurricane-esque blowout of Bonny Eagle, 96-36.

CHANTAL added 7 points, and SARAH hit her first varsity 3-pointer. The Devils remain undefeated and as yet unchallenged.

KANDACE had 6 points, 8 steals, and 5 assists, but it wasn't enough as Winthrop escaped with the win. Livermore Falls is now 7-2.

January 8, 1999...

KANDACE had 21 points in a win over over Georges Valley (47-27) as Livermore Falls goes to 7-1.

KATIE King netted 16 and hauled down 14 rebounds as the Hornets downed Carrabec 51-37.

KATIE Stailing poured in 26 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to beat Brunswick. Morse is now 5-3.

VAL dumped in 10 points as Lewiston put the big hurt on Biddeford, 77-22.

CHANTAL tossed in 9 points to help lead the Blue Devils over Biddeford, as Lewiston goes to 5-0.

SARAH went for 17 points in the JV game and added 2 in the varsity game. Both teams are undefeated.

January 7, 1999...

KATIE Stailing is averaging 22.8 points a game which is third in the highly touted KVAC. Morse goes up against archrival Brunswick tonight.

CHANTAL is averaging 10 points a game for concensus #1 Lewiston.

January 5, 1999...

BETHANY tallied 11 points to help lead Winslow to a buzzer-beating victory over MCI, and raise the Raiders record to 5-2.

CHANTAL dumped in 13 points, and VAL and SARAH added 4 and 2 points, as undefeated Lewiston cruised by Deering 70-33. Sarah also pumped in 17 points in the JV game.

KATIE Stailing tossed in 19 points and added 10 boards to keep Morse's winning streak alive, with a 1 point win over Messalonskee. Katie also added 3 charges just to remind everybody that she is a Hurricane...

January 4, 1999...

KANDACE went for 20 points, but Carrabec handed Livermore Falls their first loss of the year in overtime. L.F. is now 6-1.

KATIE King dumped in 24 points and added 14 rebounds in a lopsided 70-21 win over Lisbon. Leavitt goes to 6-3.

January 2, 1999...

KATIE Stailing led Morse to a come from behind win at Oxford Hills High School, 63-59. Katie dumped in 12 of the Shipbuilders final 14 points, to finish with a game high 27. Morse, who was 1-3 before the Christmas break, has now won 4 games in a row.

Sarah, Katie King and Mrs. King, TJ, Michael and Coach Mike made the trip to watch Miss Stailing. Just another Hurricanes party...

KATIE King had a very good Christmas break, as Leavitt won the Mt. Valley Christmas Tournament. Katie averaged 15 points a game on the tournament.
