Yearbook Class Teacher
August 2017 to Present

As the Yearbook Class Teacher I guided students to create the school’s Yearbook. Tasks included teaching the students about photography, photo editing, print design, color theory, headline writing, caption writing, file management, and time management. In addition, I demonstrated the importance of paying attention to the small details and how to facilitate clear communication with teachers and peers. I successfully procured and maintained inventory under budget budget for the Design Technology and Yearbook classes. I aided in the maintenance and procurement of inventory for the HS Digital Media class.

Design Technology Assistant Teacher
December 2013 to Present

As the Design Technology Assistant Teacher I instructed students and teachers on proper safety practices, I taught the uses of power tools such as the table saw, chop saw, and band saws, scroll saws, sanders, planers, and many hand tools.

In addition to my normal duties I also took it upon myself, with approval, to open the wood shop to more staff and students. I met with the PYP coordinator to incorporate the use of the wood shop in the elementary school. I instructed adult learners in community education classes and in wellness sessions. I stepped in to many other teachers classrooms to teach their students Photoshop, Illustrator, and basic coding. I lent my design and art skills to the school to create student assisted installations, posters, invitations, and have been the middle school photographer for the last year and a half.

Emergency Room Clerk
March 2010 to October 2012

In the Emergency room my role was to gather accurate demographic data either in the triage area or at patient bedside, obtain information from patient's relatives, paramedics, police officers, or others when patient cannot provide necessary information for registration. Using knowledge of third party payer systems and insurance web sites I would determine and enter appropriate insurance code information for accurate billing of patient and verify patients on public social welfare programs using Minnesota Medical Assistance on-line systems. I Processed and distributed all necessary papers for ER exam to commence. I obtained information necessary for registration, at times, from acutely ill or injured, hostile or uncommunicative patients/families. Maintained communication with the consulting services as needed. Directed and occasionally escorted patient/family to appropriate Hospital area. Reviewed and sorted paper portion of records for completeness, accuracy and appropriate documents according to established protocols. Arranged contact between ED staff physicians and consulting services, and x-ray/lab techs. Generally assisted in coordination of patient care. Obtained patient records from outside providers as requested.

Radiology Department Clerk

In the Radiology Department I Greeted and registered patients. Directed phone calls to appropriate staff members. Entered patient and exam information into multiple computer systems. Scheduleed radiology procedures when needed. Assisted technologists with patient workflow. Joined technologist during portable x-rays to help with positioning of patient. Assisted technologists with processing cassettes as needed. Assisted with transferring patients between exam rooms and waiting areas. Burned CD images as requested by patient or clinic/hospital. Helped maintain comfort of patients in waiting areas. Maintained cleanliness and order of reception area.
