The Jozi Stars, on the other hand, are looking for their first win of MSL 2019 and to end with a shred of dignity intact.
Rain has prevented a number of teams from having a fair crack at qualifying and the forecast in Durban is not too good for this match either. We could have a situation where Durban Heat falls short of qualifying and the Jozi Stars fail to win a single match all without a ball being bowled.

Three out of the last five matches in MSL 2019 have been washed out and it is really making a farce of the entire competition. One of those matches was between the Jozi Stars and Durban Heat and so this match is going to be the first time that the two teams actually end up playing each other in 2019.
Durban Heat has everything to play for. They will go third on the table with a win in this match and go on to play against the Giants in the Eliminator.
The strength of the Durban side has been its batting so far. Alex Hales played a spectacular inning of 97 not out in the previous match to join the list of batsmen in good form. Dane Vilas, David Miller, and Wihan Lubbe have al been striking the ball very well and ensuring that the Durban side does not lack in runs too often.
Durban Heat chased down 196 in the previous match with a fair amount of ease.
Durban’s bowling has been a concern from the very beginning and that is going to be the case in this match as well. Kyle Abbot and Andile Phehlukwayo are the leaders of this bowing attack alongside Keshav Maharaj in the spin department.
Neither of these three bowlers has had a great tournament and the supporting cast is not too great either. At this point in time, it appears that Durban Heat just wants to minimize the damage it incurs during its bowing stint and then make up for it with the bat.

The hapless Jozi Stars have been denied a chance to get a win under their belt for two straight matches now as the rain has followed them around. The defending champions of the MSL have been very poor in every department this season and even when they have played well, it has not been enough to get them over the line.
We thought that the Jozi Stars did well in their match against the Paarl Rocks when they scored 171 batting first. Yes, that was a total below what we have seen in MSL 2019 but it was a competitive one for sure.
Also, the Jozi Stars have a very decent bowling attack on paper. Once, again, though despite three wickets to Kagiso Rabada’s name, the Jozi Stars were unable to defend the total.
The Stars have nothing to lose in this match and should come out playing without any fear. Batsmen like Reeza Hendricks, Rassie van der Dussen, Temba Bavuma, and Shoaib Malik have tons of experience between them and it would be a blow to their personal pride that they have not been able to win any match so far.
Shoaib Malik has joined the team recently and we think his addition makes the Stars a lot more dangerous.
He will contribute in the bowling department as well and help provide valuable support to Kagiso Rabada, Duanne Olivier, and Aaron Phangiso.
The Jozi Stars have underperformed this entire season but with nothing to lose, they could finally make an impact in this last match.
