So this is how it ends. 13 episodes that varied in quality somewhat, were still far better than most things on TV today. A show killed by ignorance and stupidity, murdered by bean-counters and people with the creative abilities of an eggplant.

This was a good episode to end on in some ways, however. It was Crusade in good form, with the acting and character development that we've come to expect. Richard Biggs stole the show as Dr. Franklin, which is to be expected considering that he has had five years to get it down. :)

Still, it wasn't an all-out excellent episode. Of course, no one reallly expected it to be the last one of the series, ever. Even so, this is a good episode, but not one of the top episodes of the series. Had it not been for the good acting and (surprisingly) good CGI, it would have only been an average one.

Of course, we did see the Warlock in action, something I've wanted to see for a long time. Unfortunately, had I blinked, I would have missed it. Oh well...

So in the end, how was Crusade? Well, it wouldn't have rocked the sci-fi world, but what show really hits its stride in the first 13. Did it deserve to live? Yes. In the meantime, if you've taped any of it, show them to your friends, other sci-fi fans. Spread the word. Sure, the chances of a comeback are slim, but as Galen remarked: "hope is all we have."
