For those of you who ever doubted CRUSADE, watch "The Well Of Forever." This is an episode that deserves to be put on a pedestal and admired. This is an episode that can easily stand on the same level as some of the best of "Babylon 5." This episode proves that Fiona Avery has been the recipient of all the talent that has been missing in Hollywood recently. "The Well Of Forever" is a masterpiece of television, hitting everything that a good show should, and doing it well.

First of all, the acting was top-notch from everyone involved. Peter Woodward as Galen turned in another great performance, giving Galen more humanity than just another wizardly character. Carrie Dobro also brought new textures to Dureena, showing us more insights into her character. Also, the wonderfully low-key Danial Dae Kim made Lt. Matheson stand out as a character again.

What helped this episode stand out was the excellent writing. It had the kind of questions that made B5 stand out, along with some very fun humorous moments involving a randy mile-long jellyfish. (Which actually worked well towards infusing a bit of levity into an episode that could have been a bit too heavy without it.) The humanity of the characters and their personal drives and ambitions made this episode. It proves that a good show doesn't need special effects, gore, or sex to be good, but solid writing an involving characters. It's quite unfortunate that TNT hasn't caught on to that concept yet.
