THE MGB. Taking Action (page 2)

The time has come. A place to work on my ZJ in peace has arrived. Lori and I purchased a new home this past January (2008) and we have completed a move and settled in. I moved my shop, which now is at the end of my asphalt paved driveway rather than being hidden in an uneven back yard. I have already found that I would rather have concrete... since I tried to change a tire on Lori's Tahoe and the jack sunk into the asphalt. (bad mojo)

Either way, the time has come. I have plans tomorrow to go and get the MG from my land 7 miles north of here. I'm hoping that there are no wasp nests or rats in the beast....
As for my plans. I still have all of the parts for the 18V engine. I dont know if I want to tackle that project or not, though. Since the machine work was done, all of the bores have a fine sheen of rust on them. I had bagged and "preserved" the engine, but some rodents chewed the bag up and alot of condensation got into it. I will continue to consider the route I will be taking. Its either continue the rebuild or swap in a GM powertrain. I'm leaning toward the GM parts. Easy to get and cheap. Stay tuned. We shall soon see.
