Death Note

 

Death Note started out as a manga that later became a big hit.  It spawned to a live action movie that received help from US studio Time Warner & had a high budget.  It was very successful in Asia despite being one half of the plot.  The anime later followed up & the second half of the live action movie came next.  During the manga period, there was a small amount of merchandises.  They were mainly trading figures or cards.  There were some special limited items that had dioramas & statues.  They are now consider as rare & pricey items.  More items came up as the anime continued to air on TV.  But, most of them were accessories which are mainly jewelry.  Higher priced ones are usually PVC figures in limited quantities.  Later on, mid-priced PVC figures appeared.  However, the latter products aren't too popular in terms of sales.
