The genus seems closest to Ammobates, which it
resembles in appearance. It occurs from the Canary Islands and Morocco east to
Egypt, Afghanistan, India and from Hungary and Greece east to the Caucasus and
Ukraine. Warncke (1983) reviewed six palearctic species. Only one species
named above is known from India (Personal communication with Rozen, J. G., Jr.
(dated 1 May 2003).
As per Warncke (1983), the presumed hosts of
Parammobatodes are in the genus Camptopoeum (Panurginae).
