The genus seems closest to Ammobates, which it resembles in appearance. It occurs from the Canary Islands and Morocco east to Egypt, Afghanistan, India and from Hungary and Greece east to the Caucasus and Ukraine. Warncke (1983) reviewed six palearctic species. Only one species named above is known from India (Personal communication with Rozen, J. G., Jr. (dated 1 May 2003).

As per Warncke (1983), the presumed hosts of Parammobatodes are in the genus Camptopoeum (Panurginae).
