Yoh, Ren, Horo Horo, and Ryu travel together. While they are figuring the way to go to Patch tribe, Lilirara, a shaman from Semi Noah tribe appear and determine to stop them to participate in Shaman Fight.

Lilirara told the story of what happened at the Shaman Fight 500 years ago to Yoh and his friends by using her shaman power to create the image in their brain.

With Lilirara's image, Yoh and his friends saw Haoh, and learn that the purpose of Shaman Fight is to gather shamans around the world to build the shaman empire to destroy the world. Yoh and his friends determine to learn more about Haoh. They don't believe that Patch tribe is evil.

The next morning, Yoh and his friends are ready to travel to Patch tribe. Lyserg Diethel appeared and asked Yoh if he can travel with them. Lyserg is the shaman with the dowsing ability. With his guardian spirit, Morphine, he can use the crystal pendulum as his weapon. Ren and Horo Horo didn't trust Lyserg. They thought that Lyserg might work for Haoh.

Lyserg beats up Horo Horo and Ren. Yoh was angry, and Lyserg challenge him into the fight. However, Lyserg was shocked that Yoh look like Haoh, so, he lose the battle.

Lyserg told everyone that Haoh murdered his parents, so that's why he need friends to help him to help him revenge. Yoh help Lyserg to understand himself. Lyserg decided that he would revenge by himself.
