Koshka's Cave
Koshka's Cave

Hello, and thank you for visiting my website. Visit the ZZT and Jetpack sections if you want to play some levels/games made for two awesome, ancient video games, the Miscellaneous section for random crap I don't feel like making a separate page for, and the Links section for a list of other websites.

I'll probably add more sections sooner or later assuming I get some ideas and don't get lazy again. If you have any suggestions/questions/feedback/death threats don't hesitate to contact me.

This site is best viewed with Internet Explorer or any version of Opera earlier than 12.00. No other browser supports the bgsound tag anymore unfortunately so you will not be able to hear the background MIDI without them.

Updated the Contact Me and Links pages and fixed an error on the site. Also changed the site's name (though not the url) to reflect the fact that I haven't been CatouttaHell for 2 years now.

I've been working on a brand new ZZT game, as well as on Mustache IV SE and Algorithm but all three are currently in development hell again so I'd rather not make any promises in case I can't keep them. I've been toying with the idea of progressing from ZZT to making my own DOS-based game but as I have barely started I don't want to make any promises about that either. The next time I update this site I'll probably at the very least redo this whole site to be HTML5 standards compliant. May or may not actually change the aesthetics, but either way it'll still have a classic 1990's Geocities era look.

In case anyone that isn't a search engine bot actually visits this site anymore, greetings. (:

Okay so Mustache IV SE stalled in development hell and I wound up cancelling the other game, but I made up for it by finishing a Viovisian themed Christmas game just in time for Christmas Russian Christmas the day after Russian Christmas. Download Santa's Lil' Helper from the ZZT section. It's not that long, and showcases some pretty original ZZT effects.

I changed the background MIDI to something arguably better, if you're attached to the old one (can anybody besides me even hear them?) you can still listen to/download it from here. The Links page has also been updated with a few new links and the Games page with more primordial garbage of mine that I dug up for the sake of history.

That aside, I've decided to break my 5 year silence in terms of making ZZT games by releasing two games one after another before 2014. The first is (so far at least) a Viovisian ug-related game in the spirit of CLAUDE and the second the finished version of Mustache IV, which came out quite a bit smaller than it was supposed to be because I got sick of making stuff for ZZT and released it as it was. For the curious, yes there will be a Mustache V eventually (probably sometime next year,) but since I went so overboard with the fourth one (even made a hex edited ZZT.exe for it) I decided the only way I'd ever top it is if the next one was in SuperZZT or Flash... so that's that.

On that note. For anybody who wants some context for games of mine like CLAUDE and the earlier Mustache installments (or just anybody who wants a cool online community to hang out in,) I invite you to come to #piratekid on irc.oftc.net. If you don't have an IRC client and can't install/use one, just use this web client.

Finally decided to make a real wobsite here. It's not much so far, and it's a tad tacky because I am way too attached to the old Internets of a decade ago. I'll probably be adding more stuff as time goes on assuming I don't get lazy or forget this exists.
