Christmas Party on December 10th

By Marianne Torchia

The Christmas Party is right around the corner, Saturday evening, December 10th. The party starts at 7:00 p.m. I will need a head count by December 5th. Please either email me or call me at the address/number below. Save room for the good eating! Family Tradition Restaurant and Catering will be preparing the food. It will be buffet style with the following entrees, sides and deserts: Pot Roast with Vegetables, Baked Ham, and Turkey & Dressing. The vegetable choices are: Green Beans, Au Gratin Potatoes, Whipped Sweet Potatoes, Buttered Broccoli, Squash Casserole, and Cream Corn. And saving the best for last: Banana Pudding, Peach Cobbler, and German Chocolate Cake. Family Tradition will provide Sweet Tea and Regular Iced Tea. Attendees are welcome to bring any other drinks that they desire (BYOB). The cost per person is set at $15.00, with children 10 years old and under $7.50.

Don’t forget your Christmas CD’s for the boombox. We’ll also be having the Chinese gift exchange, with the suggested gift value being in the $10.00 range. So many great ideas for gifts…..horse themed, funny, offbeat. Remember…if you get a gift someone else wants, you may have to give it up!

The party will be held at the Falls of Cherokee Clubhouse on Transart Parkway. Transart Parkway is the second left off Sixes Road coming from I-575 heading towards the BridgeMill subdivision. Coming from Bells Ferry, it is the first right hand turn off Sixes Road after Cherokee Falls and Lake Sovereign’s second entrance. Sixes Road is a mess right now, so drive carefully. Hopefully Transart Parkway’s sign will be up!

We will need a set-up crew and clean-up crew. Anyone willing to help, please call me at 770-757-2282 or email me at: [email protected].

Christmas Parade in Canton December 3rd
By Doreen Penny

The annual Christmas Parade is around the corner. The date is Saturday, December 3rd at 2:00 p.m. in downtown Canton. Parking of the trucks and trailers will be behind the AutoZone store. The lineup is at 12:01 p.m. We would like to have all members participate. The spectators enjoy seeing horses in parades, especially a saddle club with such a diversity of riders and horses. We need volunteers to walk with the riders and someone to be our famous pooper scooper. Please remember that this event is for saddle club members only. For liability reasons non-members or friends of family are not allowed to ride in our group. Please make sure the horse you ride is used to noise and people. Arrangements have been made for a wagon to carry members who choose not to ride and for the children. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please call Doreen Penny at 770-928-6448 or email [email protected].
There will be refreshments after the parade behind AutoZone.
Participants are encouraged to wear something that is either red or green, in tune with the Christmas season.
