PROJECT: THANKS AND HOPE |
BACK TO: |
Due to the move to the new Central School our school community was unable to participate in any efforts being organized to pay honor and show appreciation to the men and women serving our country. After the holiday season, the PTL sought out ways for which our school could do something special for our troops. Project: Thanks And Hope and specifically, The Hearts Of Hope Banner, is Central School's way of extending admiration, respect and support for those who are fighting to preserve our freedom. Over 450 hearts have been created by the children, teachers and staff. Some are decorated and many have "heart-felt" messages. Once complete, the banner will be presented to the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. and displayed. Thanks to the many volunteers who helped make the banner a project undertaken with much heart and care! The PTL would like to acknowledge and thank Blanchard Awning of Wakefield, Ma. for assisting in the preparation of the Hearts and Hope Banner. In addition, the Central School community participated in "Operation Valentine". Together with their families many students prepared Valentine's Day cards and letters extending good wishes to our service men and women. This effort was coordinated by the International Neighbors Club One. |
