The Churchwarden Editor Gets In Touch With His Feminine Side!

A Frugal Fly Fisherman Report

Bet that headline got your immediate attention! Well, folks, you probably ought to realize something about moi, your ever eccentric literary editor: I now carry a purse. O yeah, tis true, I really do. Bought the bag off a babe at work for nine dollars and no cents--a real steal if you ask me. Fulfills all my needs, too. I'm so happy.

Okay, okay, here's the story. There's a woman on the job named Stephanie who carried a Mudd brand camo-patterned pocketbook with her every week for months. One day as we sat together in the break room, the thing caught my attention in a life-changing way. Gripped by its cataclysmic fly fishing potential, I knew I must have Stephanie's purse at any cost. Thus, I smoothly negotiated a price agreeable to her, advantageous to me, and now I never leave home without it.

The selling point, the very feature which gets me all giddy, is the long, sexy, black nylon strap. The pocketbook fits perfectly, hangs by my side like it meant to be there. Coincidentally, the pockets just happen to hold a box of wet flies, a box of dry flies, a box of steamers, several leaders and enough cigars or pipe tobacco to keep the bugs at bay for hours. Ideal for summertime stream prospecting, my latest fashion accessory functions superbly as an effective alternative to a hot vest. Furthermore, said purchase looks manly enough to convince Bubba and the boys I'm toting the snazziest fishing accouterment on the market. Got them fooled, for sure. Indeed, I've actually become the envy of everyone who wants to get away from a vest, but doesn't want to spend the typical $75.00 to $150.00 necessary to doing so. New, a dainty little deal like this runs around thirty bucks. I love mine. You would love yours. Trust me, those overpriced bags by Hardy have nothing over Mudd.
