C.F. Martin Presentation
Guitar
Martin's earliest clients
were upper class New Yorkers who could afford
the finest materials..
Martin and his father
worked together for a long time and co-founded
a violin shop, and later he opened a music store
by himself. In addition to selling his own guitars,
Martin also sold other stringe instruments, accessories
and sheet music.
This guitar has a
fingerboard, headstock and bridge
made completely out of ivory. The headstock is
curved, with all the tuners on one side: a Stauffer
design that Martin used on most ofhis earlier
guitars. The neck can be adjusted with a clock
key.
