Adventure

To call just the few experiences I've listed here as simple adventure is wrong. It depends on where you are and what you do that determines your idea of an adventure.  The whole experience of living at Scott Base could  be called an adventure.  What I (and most others on the ice)  took for granted every day could be someone else's adventure of a lifetime.  Having said that, here are some of the more exceptional experiences which I would like to share with others.

Some people on the ice get more opportunities than others to get out and about. The New Zealanders living at Scott Base are far luckier, with our smaller numbers, than the people located in McMurdo, 3 km away.  In the wintertime there are only 10 or so of us and about 150 of them. We have also had the advantage of Antarctic field training which is the minimum training required if you want to get out and about.

Go to the sections below and take a peek at what we do.  As I get my photos sorted out I will add more pages.
