Tenchi Muyo,, Tenchi Universe, Tenchi in Tokyo
All of the Tenchi series, though they have different plots, focus on the same main characters.
Tenchi Muyo: Tenchi Masaki is a highschool student with a big secret (not even he knows it at first). He is really the descendant of the Jurai Royal Family. Helives in the middle of no-where near his grandfather's shrine, and his life is pretty normal. Until five women crash into his life that is. Now he must fight Kagato, the evil space criminal, and at the same time deal with Ryoko, Aeka, Washu, Mihoshi, and Sasami.
Tenchi Universe:This series is a total remake of the Tenchi Muyo series. Tenchi Masaki lives out in the woods with his grandfather and father, with whom he takes care of a Shinto Shrine. One daythe space pirate Ryoko crashes into his life. She is faollowed by Aeka, who is followed by Sasami. Then comes along the two bumbling space detectives Kyhone and Mihoshi. Washu also eventually joins the group. Together they all go through a series of hardships, and eventually band together to defeat the fake Juraian emperor, Kagato.
Tenchi in Tokyo: This series can be seen as either a continuation of the Tenchi Muyo series, or the Tenchi Universe series. Tenchi enrolls in a tutoring program in Tokyo that will help him protect the Masaki Shrine. This causes him to move away all together....bad idea Tenchi! The girls constantly interfere with his new life there, but not everything is just fun in games. There is a misguided evil mutant child trying to take over the Earth...and Tenchi. Now, with the help of his special powers, he must fight to save his home.
