(N14) Nissan Pulsar GTi
Standard Pulsar:
here are some pictures of a standard GTi Pulsar
My Pulsar:
My Pulsar Specs:
Engine: Was the SR18DE (104kW 1800cc non-turbo) (mine had 118kW with air filter and 2 1/4" exhaust) but was replaced (straight bolt in swap) with an SR20DET from a 4wd auto U12 Bluebird. The Pulsar was kept front wheel drive and the engine bolted straight up to my 5spd manual gearbox (well two bolts don't match up but that doesn't matter). The modifications to the engine are minimal at present and they are: Garrett T28 turbo, Mitsubishi VR4 front mounted intercooler, Series 6 RX7 fuel pump, 11mm leads, Modified XR6 Falcon Air flow meter, Drag sport blow valve, intercooler water spray, 3" from turbo straight through exhaust, Kevlar/Brass heavy duty clutch (single plate, and it has NO probs driving in heavy traffic), Blitz dual turbo timer, Blitz SBC boost controller.
Body: I have put on a Pulsar GTi-R rear wing (I don't want it's bonnet though), Mazda GTR bonnet vents, clear side indicators, slight hack and chop of the front bumper to accommodate the intercooler.
Running Gear: I've put on 17" CSA Technic's (with carbon fiber "GTi" center decals) and 205x40x17 Kumho Ecsta 712's, DBA cross drilled and slotted rotors, B&G sport springs , and Monroe gas shocks (it had gas axed springs when I bought it...it was nice and low though).
Interior: The guts of the car now houses one of two Black Momo Rookie race seats (the other is in a friends lounge...sorry Ray, I'll get there one day!), Momo carbon gear knob, a Blitz dual turbo timer/boost read out, no dash mount gauges (I don't really need them), my stereo gear is seriously lacking, Kenwood single CD player, Phoenix Gold 6x9's, factory door speakers.
Performance
Boost was set at 6lbs.
but with a boost controller it is now switch able between 10-14lbs !!!!
That gets the 1100kg (2425lbs) car moving quite well while still being very drivable...
That was my first drag event (above) and the car was cutting out at 3 quarter distance and rolling down the rest of the track, but I won a few races with a best of 14.32sec @ 98mph rolling across the line!
I have since done some more, runs but the cut was still there so I had to short change to avoid the engine cut, which meant the turbo wasn't on full load! the clutch has finally decided to die after some fierce abuse, ....so the best was another 14.3sec but @ 103mph, back to the drawing board!
These two companies helped me out enormously! They were awesome!
I bought my engine, engine bits and body parts from Jason at Parts Imports, they have everything you need and he gives excellent help and advice, I fully recommend them for everything, he also put me on to Kong Yong at AAM Autoland Automotive who did the engine transplant and all things technical. Kong is a great guy, he's very honest (will tell you when you're dreaming) and he really knows his stuff!!! I am forever going to see him with new idea's and nothing is a problem for him.
Check out Parts Imports site for any parts info/requirements

Josh is really slack so his site is ALWAYS under construction....he's also just taken his GTi and himself to Perth to live.
This is the Pulsar SSS email group I'm a member of...dedicated to Pulsars of every stature!
