PostShow Excitement!!!

Hey Gang!!

Just got back from seeing Sarah H. at the Ark in Ann Arbor. What a great show!!!!!! This was my first time seeing her in her own show, as opposed to opening for someone else, and every other time I've seen her pales by comparison. Wow! What a great show!! (Did I already say that?). The Ark was a really good venue for her, too...very intimate, smaller than the other venues I've seen her play in.

First impressions: What a stylistic range! I had no idea that some of the songs on You Were Here could be so rocked-out, or so bluegrassy, when done live. I think the album is fab but the live versions were more varied in style than I expected, and I realy enjoyed it.

Also, great range song-wise. I had braced myself for a whole show of You Were Here with a few Songs for Clem sprinkled in, but was more than pleasantly surprised to hear a wide variety, including an impromptu audience request, "Play some Neil!" Which she did.

And a request of my own: Tell me anything you know about the song "Good Fortune"!! Totally one of the highlights of the set!!

At risk of looking like a big geek, I actually jotted down the setlist as she played, and some notes as well, just because I knew you'd want to hear it. (Thank you notes and bouquets can be sent to my home address at....). So give me a couple of days to get my act together and you'll have a full setlist complete with editorial comments, both mine and hers.
