Black Coffee
by P F Webster and Sonny Burke

Transcribed by Lawrence G
Note- This was a tricky one.
I am pretty sure all the Chord fingerings are correct but I admit I was stumped to
come up with a name for one or two of them (jazz chords have some wacky names).
Enjoy

I'm feelin' mighty lonesome, I haven't slept a wink
   F7add6 F#7add6 F7add6 Baug/sus2
I walk the floor and watch the door, and in between I drink

black coffee, loves a hand-me-down brew.
Dmin7 Gmin7 Cmin7b5 F#7add6
I'll never know Sunday in this week day room.

I'm talkin' to the shadows, one o' clock to four
and Lord how slow the moments go when all I do is pour
black coffee. Since the blues caught my eye.
I'm hangin' out on Monday, my Sunday dreams to dry

        A#min7 Fmin7add6
Now, a man is born to go a-lovin'
   A#min7 C#min7 Amin7 D7
a woman's born to weep and fret
    G#min7 C#7 F#maj7
to stay at home and tend her oven
       G#min7 C#7 Gmin7 C7
and drown her past regrets with coffee and cigarettes.

I'm moanin' all the morning, and mornin' all the night
and in bewtween it's nicotine, I've not much heart to fight
black coffee. Feelin' low as the ground
Amin7 D7 Gmin7 C7 F
It's drivin' me crazy just waitin' for baby to maybe come around
