The Weapons

In its original design, this four barreled shotgun contained two barrels and could only be differentiated from a standard two-barreled shotgun by its oversized hammer and filed down retaining pin for faster loading. After Darkwatch agent Cole Carsons famed encounter with eleven Hellions at Ruby Red Cross in the Fall of 1823, he made an official request for extensive modifications to the weapon. The final result boasted four barrels, a simplified extractor spring for quicker firing, and a wicked six inch blade extending from the handle.

The ingeniousness of the weapon is found in the elegant synchronicity of the barrel design. While two barrels deploy, the second pair swing below the breech for simultaneous re-loading. The weapons balance allows for no overlap in cone output, and the result is a forced vertical cone diameter of between four and thirteen feet, depending on target distance.

Named for the four-eyed creature of Greek mythology, Argus Panoptes, (Argus the all-knowing), the four-barreled shotgun is a favorite of Darkwatch agents facing an enemy that needs to be completely taken apart.
