Stephanie Claire Trayson was born in the town of Casa Grande, Arizona. She is the only child of Mr & Mrs George Herbert Trayson. Although Stephanie was an exceptional student in school, she only attended college for one semester before deciding it wasn't for her. Instead she pursued a modelling career, as well as continue her martial arts training.

She had begun studying Tae Kwon Do at the age of 14 at the encouragement of her father.

At the age of 21, Stephanie met David Von Ramrock at a movie theatre in her hometown. Stephanie and her best friend, Deloris Noodenhoffer, spotted David kicking on an arcade machine in the movie theatre's lounge area. The girls began laughing at him, and when David turned around, his eyes met Stephanie's. It was love at first sight.

A short time later, David began to pursue his dream of being a pro wrestler. Stephanie wanted to be with him, so she joined him at his side as his valet. David gave her the name, "Clover", because he said that she was his lucky charm.
