The tiny, peaceful village of Medendorf, Belgium thirty years after the Battle of the Bulge.

Many local people remembered the 275th according to veterans who returned with the 275th Armored Field Artillery Battalion Association in 1974. But "Doc" Kelley, who played a unique role in the local area was recognized by civilians with regularity.

December 16, 1944 elements of the Fifth SS Panzer Army commanded by Field Marshal Von Runstedt turned this quiet part of the front into a nightmare for the villagers and their guests, the 275th Armored Field Artillery Battalion, whose gun positions were in the fields surrounding this village.
