Deanna Kirk, Discography

Live At Deanna's [1996]

A bunch of past and contemporary jazz standards including her own compositions. Recorded live at Deanna's legendary club in the East Village, NYC. Her sidemen are the same Harlem jazz musicians (now in their 90's) who accompanied Billie Holiday and Louis Armstrong. They frequently graced Deanna's club until 4 AM.

Mariana Trench [1996]

Deanna's first studio album which hit the Billboard charts in 1996. This is a great art-rock album which includes her beautiful rendition of Leonard Cohen's "Song of Bernadette", the best ever cover version of Sandy Denny’s "Who Knows Where The Time Goes", and her own compositions. Following "Live At Deanna’s", Deanna goes to a blend of softly electrified jazz... The response was staggering. Billboard Magazine featured Deanna on their front page as the flagship artist at Blackbird Recording Company. Deanna was featured in People Magazine, the New York Times, Time Out, New York Magazine and many other publications. It’s hard to define.. A great work.
