Books
Posted by Dreamy on Monday, December 19, 2016
Because the maximum file size allowed to be uploaded on the server is 20 MB, I have created a PolyGlot .bin book with depth of 11 whole moves (22 half moves or 22 plies) which is 18.4 MB. The book is 'exceptionally' strong with no bad or weak lines. It is an extract from a bigger opening library. That database is freely available online in an Original format and here as a converted one.
Book details:
Size: 18.4 MB (19,307,952 bytes)
Format: PolyGlot .bin book
Maximum line depth: 22 plies (22 half moves, 11 whole moves)
Positions or Polyglot entries: 1206747
Date: 2016.12.18
Download: PolyGlot Opening book
Enjoy this book.
If you find any bad lines, it is advisable to send them to me and after a check I will send them to the original creators for corrections and improvements.
More information about PolyGlot books is written here - Setting PolyGlot .bin format books to work with the PolyGlot adapter.
In short:
1. Go to the folder (for example) \ChessGenius Classic\ENGINES\engine-x64-popcnt
2. Open in a txt editor (like Notepad) the file polyglot.ini
2.1. On the line, containing 'BookFile = ..\bin-books\performance.bin' change 'BookFile = ..\bin-books\polybook_161218_depth22.bin'
3. Don't forget to copy/move the downloaded above opening book file in the directory \ChessGenius Classic\ENGINES\bin-books
Ready to play with the book.
Stay calm and enjoy.

Back in development
Posted by Dreamy on Monday, March 23, 2015
Hello and welcome back (in development). :)
ChessGenius GUI Engines Manual
ChessGenius GUI Engines Tutorial is actually a Manual.
Currently since 2012-2013 the Genius GUI Engines Manual has been in a Development Hell. I had a lot of things to mention and it all has become a mess. Sorry about that. There is a light in the tunnel right now that everything will be arranged and put in order. It will soon go fine. Everything will be fine.
Thank you for the support.
D.G. (ChessGenius Engine, GUI & Tools and Shredder Engine, GUI, Book & EGTB Passionate; Prise to Stockfish and all other Engines.)
05 March 2015
Actually there is a new distributive package of my GeniusGUI pack.
Download here.
(File size zipped: 3.95 MB; file size extracted: 7.46 MB)
There is a file 'contents.txt' in the archive where is explained what you get.
What is included in the new series of packages:
In brief summary:
Engines: Stockfish 6 x64, Stockfish 6 x32, Genius 7 (fully configured and customizable).
Opening Books: performance.bin by Marc Lacrosse, Genius default GUI book by Ossi Weiner.
Some other nice, useful and needed (necessary) tools and utilities for running engines as well as example settings and configuration files.
In order to keep the download file size as smaller as possible, currently there are no big books and EGTBs in the pack. They can be downloaded additionally from the other sections of the site.
You can email me, if you want to send you customized versions of Genius GUI including more preferred engines or some special engine installed.
I am preparing a "second Genius Home" on the Net. It will be a portal with differentiated sections about opening libraries (opening books), engines, adapters, converters, settings, configuration. It will also cover themes for the other great brother GUI - Shredder.
Wish us success and we'll see each other soon. Meanwhile you can find me on some of the Engine Arena (1-4, especially 2-3) tournaments on the ChessCube servers, where I am happily testing my configurations.
I would also like to express my thanks, thankfulness, gratitude, acknowledgement, gratefulness to Norbert Raimund Leisner for his appreciated support.
And.. a last note to add here.
Peace, Leo Dijksman, Don Dailey. You will rest in our memories forever.
Everlast... for you, for all the people we are losing (not only in the computer chess) and for the ones that will lose us one day and will be remembering us forever.
Thank you for what you gave us.

Updating Genius tutorial about adding engines
Posted by Dreamy on Wednesday, April 04, 2012
Hello and Happy Spring. Soon will start the Polar Day. :)
I have now updated some things on my Genius tutorial about adding engines.
This Genius package now includes Houdini 2.0c x64 Standard engine and is configurated to work on every x64 Windows platform.
All you need to do is to decompress (unzip) the archive to any folder on your hard disk. Then run the file GEN32WIN.
If you have a registered version of ChessGenius GUI and Houdini 2 engine respectively then you will have a fully working copy for 64 bit architectures of ChessGenius and Houdini installed on it. Simply enjoy this great and lightweigh graphical user interface with the powerful Houdini 2 engine for x64.
You can email me, if you want to send you customized versions of Genius GUI including more preferred engines or some special engine installed.

The polar nights have begun
Posted by Dreamy on Friday, December 02, 2011
Now it is December - the last month of the year's calendar and, while in the South hemisphere (and South Pole) it is summer, on the North Pole and hemisphere it is the winter.
Today is the 2nd of December and in the northern city of Murmansk, European Russia, Murmansk Oblast, located on the Kola Bay, 12 km from the Barents Sea on the northern shore of the Kola Peninsula (where is found the Kola Superdeep Borehole - the world's most deep artificial hole, made by hand of human) starts the long polar night.
Murmansk is the largest city north of the Arctic Circle. Now the sun will not rise in the next 41 days. It will be night from December, the 2nd 2011 to January, the 12th 2012.
In Barrow, the northernmost city of the United States, in Alaska, the polar night has begun on November, 22nd 2011 and the sun will not rise in the next 58 days till January, 19th 2012.
Also, don't forget to notice, that they have polar day too during the summer, when the sun never sets for 77 days - from 14th of May to 30th of July (data for 2011).
Before that the day (respectivly the night) is long 6 days and two hours. The day during some winter days is long just an hour as the night during some summer days is long not more than an hour when the sun rises again. Cute.

Barrow: http://www.almanac.com/sun/rise/zipcode/99723
I have been inspired to search and find some more information about these long nights by the american horror movie "30 Days Of Night", which plot is set in the city of Barrow. I watched it this spring (2011) as a part of my horror movies interest. It is a good movie like most of the american things, especially movies.

Search engine and Hit counter added to the main page template
Posted by Dreamy on Tuesday, November 02, 2011
I have just added the Search engine field and the Unique IP Hit Counter respectively to the top and to the bottom of the home site web page template.
Every page can have its own Unique IP Hit counter or Every Reload Counter, but I think I will miss this idea.
Every section of the site can have its own Search engine by using the Sectional Feature of the Main Search Engine, but I will miss this idea.

Hit counter added
Posted by Dreamy on Tuesday, November 01, 2011
Every Unique User (IP) that accesses the site will be counted by the new "old" hit counter that has been added:
Every Page Hit on that web page will be counted by the new "old" hit counter that has been added:
Hit counter technology courtesy Free Hit Counter.
When I use the "old", I refer to my previous home web page (site), Home Page Two.
Both the code for the Search Engine and the Hit Counter are taken from there.
I will also take from there the nice and funny Java Script scripts that I used to have there on some pages.
Let us remember my Home Page Two that, as it might seem, is still alive, because I took many ideas from there and I am still taking and will continue to take, although they have said: Give more than you take. :)

Now the Search engine is back again.
Go to the Search page.
I will add an updated Site Map as soon as I upload more of my contents. Most of them will be "old".

Posted by Dreamy on Tuesday, November 01, 2011
Now you can check the primary aim to recreate my page again - Quick Tutorial How To Add and Use modern and strong Chess Engines in the ChessGenius 7 graphical user interface (GUI).

Back...
Posted by Dreamy on Monday, October 10, 2011
Welcome to my third home page.
I will be working on here for my own pleasure and satisfaction, so do not expect anything marvelous from here, but another world of mine, full with dreams, hobbies, interests, diary, poetry and so on. Also I would like to note that this place should and will be in Bulgarian, but I will try (to do my best) to maintain it in English language too (and sorry, it is not proficiency).
GeoCities is dead... but I liked it (the service) a lot. Very much.
GeoCities.com was my Second home web page. Free.BOL.BG was the first.
Once my second home page went away (forever) I said: To be continued...
Now, the continuation is a fact - my cute, single web pages will be alive on the net again. And again on GeoCities.
