| NEW YORK CITY early September 2001 |

| One week before the World Trade Center was destroyed I visited friends in New York City. It had been a year since I was last there, although Vincent (whom you'll remember from the Kyoto photos) visited me only a few months before in Japan. |
| Vincent was housesitting for a friend who lives off 3rd Avenue on the Upper East Side, so we stayed there while I was in town and enjoyed fantastic views from the balcony. |
| Later we met up with another friend and the three of us walked over to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. As you can see, we had a good time hanging out with the ancient Greeks and Egyptians. |
