Centauri Prime has fallen, and the end of an age draws near, as William takes his command home to Minbar, and steps down to take up his new role, there...

...which is to be one of the nine High Councillors that govern the Anla'shok across all of known space. Meanwhile, Bester gives Brianna an ultimatum she doesn't like, but has to obey. And the final fates of those close to the Rimstalker draws near...

William discovers what has happened to Brianna and while he is definitely not pleased about it, there is little he can do, for the moment. He has to look to his new family, and to the future. And one part of that future is finally about to be fulfilled...

As at the end of the Earth Year 2262, Julia Tikopai takes up the burden that has been waiting for her, ever since this all began. To walk in the dark places no others will enter. To stand on the bridge, and let no one pass. To Live for the one. And if necessary...

To die for the One, as well. She will write a history of her own, in the years to come. A history of fire, a history of command. A history of desperate undertakings, and powerful adventures.
