The Gold dragons are wise, judicious, and benevolent. They consider themselves the self-appointed promoters of goodness, often taking on quests that they pursue with single-minded fanaticism. At birth, these dragons have scales of dark yellow dotted with golden metallic flecks. Turning its scales completely gold by the time it reaches adult age. They embody the concept of lawful good, passionately hating injustice in all its forms. Gold dragon prefer to make their lairs out of solid stone, using either natural caves or specially constructed homes built by their demi human vassals.

However, in the cause of justice or when no other alternative presents itself, gold dragons become fierce warrior for what is right and just.

Climate/Terrain: Gold dragons can live anywhere. Their lairs are secluded and always made of solid stone, either caves or castles. These usually have loyal guards: either animal appropriate to the terrain, or storm or good cloud giants. The giants usually serve as guards through a mutual defensive agreement.

Among their favourites are sleep, stinking cloud, slow, fire shield, cloud-kill, globe of invulnerability, delayed blast fireball, and maze.

Ecology: Gold dragons can eat almost anything; however, they usually sustain themselves on pearls or small gems. Gold dragons who receive pearls and gems from good or neutral creatures will usually be favourably inclined toward the gift bringers, as long as the gift is not presented as a crass bribe. In the latter case, the dragon will accept the gift, but react cynically to any requests the giver makes.

Innate Abilities: Hatchling: water breathing, speak with animals freely, polymorph self three times per day; Young: Bless three times per day; Juvenile: detect lie three time per day; Adult: animal summoning once per day; Mature Adult: luck bonus once per day; Old: quest once per day; detect gems three time per day. Using the luck bonus, a mature adult gold can enchant a gem to bring good luck. The gem must be from the dragon's hoard.

Size: Can be up to 54 feet long.

Mating/Raising Young: Gold, silver, and bronze dragons are nearly always monogamous, often not even taking a new mate after the death of a beloved partner.
"Golds are the most magnificent of our world's dragons. Priding themselves on their great intelligence, many golds have become scholars, mathmeticians, philosophers, and artists."
