Project Prioritizer and Planner

Why should you use calendars?

Calendars are very important tools to utilize when working on projects. They allow us to see how far or close a due date is, and therefore allow us to plan on when to work on the project before it is needed to be complete. Being able to see the number of days remaining before a project is needed to be completed can alert us if it can be put off for a bit, or if it needs to be worked into your schedule immediately.

Setting up due dates on a Calendar

When most people place due dates on calendars, they just put the actual due date on and call it good. While this may be effective for some people, there are better ways you can utilize a calendar to help you plan out projects. When setting up a calendar you should put the final due dates to all parts of a project. But you should also add your own due dates on top of that. For example, if you are doing an essay, you should add your own due date of when you think you should have the first rough draft of the essay completed. By adding extra due dates to your calendar, you should be able to keep yourself more on track to complete it by the due date.

Weekly Time Schedules:

A weekly time schedule refers to a planner that maps out the times in a day for a week. This tool is meant to help you stay on track and set given times for you to plan on working on assignments. But a weekly time schedule shouldn't only include the times for projects but also everyday actions (dinner, school, workout, shower, etc.). By adding these everyday actions to your weekly schedule, you're able to gauge the amount of time you have to set aside for each task that you need to complete (Note: when using a weekly time schedule, it is important that you set the time for your everyday actions first, and then work around those durations of time to set up your projects and tasks).
