ELECTRICAL SAFETY
Every year in the United States, people are killed or injured from improper use of electricity. Some of those people are children. The more children and adults know about electricity the more they can protect themselves and others from being harmed by using electricity improperly.
Electricity helps people experience a better quality of life. It helps to light up our homes, cooks our food, heats and cools our houses, and operates a variety of appliances.
Electricity can be dangerous.  The common household voltage is 230 volts, and it only takes a small flow of current at that voltage to cause the heart to go into spasm. Making simple changes to the home and to family practices are the keys to keeping your family safe with electricity.
