(Willis ?) Evans and Mary Davis
William (Willis ?) Evans was born about
1790/91 in Fairfield, Oh and believed to have died about 1850 (see
census) in Sangamon, Piatt Co. IL. It is believed that his father was
Caleb Evans 1759 - 1836 Circleville, Ohio
William married Mary Davis on May 25, 1815 in
Fairfield, Ohio
Mary Davis was born about 1796 and died before 1860

Since Mary was living with her son Silas in 1850 census William must
have died before 1850
I thought that his parents were Caleb Evans and Elizabeth Wiggins.
I also thought that William was married to Sarah "Sally" Wells
before he married Mary Davis.
I no longer believe that Caleb Evans and Elizabeth Wiggins were the
parents of my William Evans.
I obtained a copy of the will of Caleb Evans who was B: Mar 12, 1759 PA.
D: August 14, 1836 Pickaway Co, Ohio.
In this will he named William as his son. He also named five of
William's children 2 sons Aaron & Eleazor and three daughters
Elizabeth, Ruth and Rebecca. According to the will the girls were not of
age yet. IF THIS IS MY WILLIAM WHERE IS GEORGE, SILAS, AND MARY A.
George could have been gone but Silas and Mary were too young.
I also now believe that my William was not the one who married Sarah
Wells. I believe that he was only married to Mary Davis.
