Armageddon Clock: 2001/2002 7" (Audio Riot Records)

Review by Tuomas Koskinen

Armageddon Clock, from Finland, has taken big steps forward when I compare this 7" with their previous release, Destined To Oppress 7". I like Destined To Oppress, but now Clock has a more personal sound. It's still angry hardcore, but sometimes they play a little bit slower and it brings more variations. It is also more emotional, but this is definitely NOT emo!

The drummer, Raul, plays very well. I like the way he plays in the Justice chorus and in The Way of the World. Mikko sings very angrily. When I read the lyrics, I can understand very well why he is so angry. The songs are a political point of view except for Changed So Fast which is a story about some one who has become devout. Guitar player, Matti, plays personal melodies and I like it a lot.

My favourite songs are Changed So Fast, Easy Way Out and Days of Destruction. I just wonder who sings the second vocals in Days of Destruction. Whoever he is, he's doing a good job! This kind of band gives me some hope for a better tomorrow. Good hardcore with positive message. Now I can see their gigs, now that I am 18 because Armageddon Clock's gigs are usually age-limited.
