Chapter 2

Because the concert wasn't until the next day Justice and I spent most of that day catching up on things while I showed her around the venue. Neither of us liked to talk about personal things over the phone so we usually had a lot to talk about when we saw each other. After a tense dinner with Mama was over we disappeared into the room I shared with Josh, ignoring the whistles from Joey and Chris.

When we walked into the room, Josh was sitting on his bed kissing his on and off boyfriend, Howie Dorough from the Backstreet Boys. I felt a pain of shock run through me, but ignored it, laughing at the expression on Justice's face when Howie and Josh were gone.

"JC's bi?" she exclaimed

"You didn't know?" I questioned with a raised eyebrow.

"No!! How long have you known?"

"Since I started MMC," I shrugged. "I mean he went from Nikki to Mark. You didn't know? I thought you could tell these things."

"I never thought he was into guys! Then again I left before he and Nikki broke up too, I guess," she shrugged. "Anyone else gay/bi?"

"Josh thinks Lance is gay but then again he thinks I'm gay too, so..." I said trailing off.

"Lance, he ain't gay, but you, my dear brother, are," she said.

"I'm not gay!" I exclaimed sitting up. "Why would you think that??"

"You are too and you're in love with JC," she answered.

"I am not," I pouted.

"It's okay, you know. I don't love you any less and Lynn maybe a bitch but she won't hate you either for being gay," she said after a moment.

"How'd you know? And I'm not gay, by the way, I'm bi."

"I'm your twin sister, I know everything! Besides that was totally a jealous look you gave that guy JC was kissing," she shrugged.

"Howie," I muttered making a face. "Damn Backstreet Boy."

"If it helps, you're so much cuter than him," she said. "My friends think so anyway."

"Well duh! I already knew that," I smiled. "I just wish Josh realized that."

"Jail bait, my brother. I say by the time we're eighteen, Howie'll be no more and JC will be-" she started but stopped when the door opened and JC walked in.

"Forgot my wallet," he offered grabbing it before leaving again.

"Have a good time with Justice?" Josh asked later that night when he returned.

"Yah. Have fun with Howie? I notice you didn't bring him back with you," I said.

"We had a good time," he shrugged. "I wouldn't bring him back here, Jus. That would be rude to you."

"Thank you for thinking of me," I said rolling my eyes.

"What's wrong with you? Did something not go right with Justice?"

"No we had fun, I'm just worried about how things are going to turn out between her and Mama," I said giving a half truth, because I was worried about that.

"I take it things aren't any better than the last time Justice visited," he said.

"No yet they both try so hard to down play it around me, like I'm not supposed to notice the tenseness or the awkward silences," I sighed.

"At least they both love you enough to try and do that for you," he said.

"I just don't understand why Mama treats Justice like that. She's a good mother to me and shows more than enough love for you four and even Britney, but not her own daughter," I said trying to keep my tears back.

Wrapping his arms around me in a hug, Josh said, "I don't know why she does it either, Just. Best I can tell you is to hope that one day Lynn will realize how wonderful Justice truly is and will understand how much she hurts her treating her this way."

"That won't happen though because Justice won't let people tell Mama about her. Every time someone starts to comment, Justice cuts them off. She doesn't think Mama cares."

"If Lynn wants to care about Justice, she's got a lot of work a head of her to prove to Justice that she really does care."

We talked for a bit longer then both decided if we were going to be worth anything tomorrow we better get some sleep. After thanking Josh and giving him a hug I climbed into my bed and fell asleep quickly.

====

I was in the middle of a very nice dream when I was awoken by Justice jumping on my bed saying, "Wake up."

"Lemme alone," I mumbled curling up into a little ball.

"No JC, he's sleeping. You might at well get redressed," she said laying down next to me. "Thought that might work," she giggled when I sat up.

"You suck," I said making a face at her. "What time is it?"

"Nine, get up so we can have breakfast," she answered.

"No," I sighed. "Where's Josh?"

"He went downstairs to eat already."

"You lying?"

"No so get up!"

Grumbling I untangled myself from the blankets and walked over to my suitcase. I pulls out a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, mumbling to myself about showering later. When I was finished we walked to the elevator where we were met by Lonnie.

"Your mother's already downstairs, Justin," he said.

"All right…" I mumbled, still not fully awake. "You up for breakfast with her, Justice?"

"I suppose but I wish I had known so I could've done my make up," she answered.

"If you're looking for a reaction, I think the outfit is enough," I said looking at her vinyl pant, black tank top and boots.

"Are you sure you're only 15?" Joey questioned when Justice take a sit across from him in the private dinning room.

"Yes she is," Mama answered through clenched teeth. "Doesn't Edward look at the clothes you wear?"

"I don't usually dress like this, picked it out just for you, Lynn," Justice smiled.

I covered my mouth to hide my smiled. Mama shook her head at Justice then continued to eat her breakfast. Josh and I were chatting and Joey was talking to Justice. I wasn't pay much attention to what they were talking about but managed to catch the last part of it.

"So do you have a boyfriend?"

"No there aren't any guys in Independence worth dating, so I'll probably end up having my twin brother's lover's child and we'll all be one big family," she said trying to keep a straight face when Mama turned to attention to Justice.

"WHAT??" Mama exclaimed.

"She's just kidding, Mama," I spoke quickly. "Brenden's not gay."

"Who?"

"Her brother. You remember Brenden, don't you?" I asked giving her a pleading look, hoping she remembered Justice and my little game.

Mama gives us questioning looks then answered, "Oh yes I remember Brenden," lamely.

When we got to Germany, Britney flew in to spend time with Josh and me. In most of the cities we'd visited since Justice joined us she would go with us when we'd all go out to the dance clubs and what not, but she still had some hard feelings with Britney because of Mama so when in Germany she heard about a teen club that would play music she'd enjoy more she decided to go there instead of hanging out with us.

"You sure you don't wanna go with us?" I asked when the rented BMW stopped in front of the club.

"You're going to the club across the street, right?" she asked. "If this club is boring I'll join you over there, okay?" she suggested when I nodded.

"All right… I don't really like leaving you alone…"

"I'm a big girl, Justin, but it's sweet of you to worry."

"I always worry…"

Justice roll her eyes at Britney before hugging Josh and me good-bye. After promising me she would meet us at the club we were going to at 10 she made her way into the club. When she was safely in the club we continued onto the club we were going to. Britney excused herself to the bathroom soon after we got into the club to make sure she looked all right, leaving Josh and me alone.

"Should we get a table and wait for Brit or should we hit the floor?" Josh asked me.

"I say hit the floor. Brit'll find us," I answered.

"Good deal," he nodded starting to the floor and I follow behind him.

A brunette and blonde walk up to us as we begin to dance. The brunette talks to Josh quickly in German and the blonde to me.

"Nous ne parlons pas allemand. Vous parlez français, anglais? (We don't speak German. Do you speak French, English?)" I asked repeating the question in English.

"Amerikaner. (Americans)," the blonde said to the brunette before speaking to us. "We speak a little English.

"You are American?" said the brunette.

"Yes we are," Josh nodded. "I'm JC and this is my friend, Justin."

"I am Adelaide," the blonde said.

"And I am Carlen," the brunette said.

"Nice to meet you both."

"There you two are! I thought I'd lost you," Britney said coming up to us.

"Your girlfriend?" Adelaide asked me.

"No I'm not his girlfriend," Britney said. "If you two are going to pick up chicks, I'm going to find me some hot German guy to hang out with."

"Brit-" I started.

She giggled and said, "It's cool, Jus. I wanna go find some hot German guy."

"Be careful," I said.

"Stay where I can see you," Josh said.

"Yes, daddy," joked walking off.

"You would like to dance, no?" Adelaide asked me when Britney was gone.

"Sure," I nodded.

====

"Jus, man, give her sometime to get out of the club," Josh said as I began to page Justice again.

"She was supposed to meet us out here, Josh! What if she's hurt or something?" I replied.

"She probably lost track of time, Justin, don't worry about it," Britney said.

"I can't not worry, Brit," I said looking at my watch, 10:10.

"Where have you been??" I exclaimed when she came outside at 10:15.

"I was in the middle of a conversation, sorry," she said sliding into the BMW.

"About what?"

"The differences between Christianity and Wicca," she shrugged. "Did you have fun?"

"It was all right," I answered.

"You mustn't have had if you were discussing something so boring," Britney said turning around.

"Actually it was quite interesting. I relearned a lot of stuff I had forgotten about Christianity and help another person understand Wicca."

"A guy, aye?" I smiled. "Was he cute?"

"My type of cute? Sorta, a bit on the skinny side, but that's part of the type I suppose," she shrugged. "Cute ass though."

I shook my head. "Asses aren't cute!"

"You like asses, don't ya JC?" she questioned.

"They're nice but I prefer abs," he shrugged.

"You're such guys! Asses are totally important," Britney claimed.

"Thank you!" Justice exclaimed. "Abs are nice but a juicy ass, man!!"

"Don't forget the firm ones," Britney added.

"Lord what have you started, Justin?" Josh teased. "And I still said abs are the key."

"Eyes," I said looking at Josh.

"What?"

"Pretty eyes do so much more for me than abs or asses," I explained.

"Eyes are nice, but no, it's butts!!" Justice said.

"Wait, Justin's talking about women," Josh said. "He's right, eyes are important about girls."

'Yah, Josh, I was talking about girls. Not my handsome blue eyed brunette best friend,' I thought to myself.

"And here I thought it was breasts," Justice joked.

We chatted about what Josh and I thought about women and Britney and Justice talked about what they liked best about guys, the rest of the way back to the hotel. By the time we reached the hotel Justice and Britney were having a somewhat descent conversation with each other and it was nice to see them getting along.
