Formed by the Correntes and Itiquira rivers, the Piqueri, for its localization and physical characteristics, as well as, for the lack of cities in its margins and for the difficulty access, can be considered as one of the rivers best preserved in the Pantaneiro ecosystem. Its design  is narrow and little deep, and its waters in greenish tones are unanswerable pure. Owner of so many virtues, the river still stands out more when the theme is  sporting fishing. Jaús, Pintados, Cacharas and Piraputangas are the most found species. But it is without a doubt that the Dourado, "The king of the river", and the intruder Tucunare (Peacock Bass) labeled as "Ambassador of  Brazil", are the main objectives of the fishermen that go there.
