My interests
in the arts stem from my drawing ability as a child. Even young (7 yrs
old) I was showing signs of promise winning numerous art contests in my
elementary school.
Up until
senior year in high school, I was only interested in the print side of
graphic arts since I had strong freehand abilities.
My freshman
year in college a revolutionary new tool help me peak the levels of my
creative abilities...the computer. My first digital imaging course proved
quite intimidating as my knowledge of computers was limited. Nevertheless,
I embraced this strange new technique and took my art to the next level.
I used to
think that computers robbed the freehand artist, cheapening the trade
and offering to any hack with sufficient computer knowledge to do so.
My experiences proved quite the opposite as I found the knack of design
and aesthetic harmony was still required for this type of craft as well.
I graduated
in 2002 finally with my AAS in Sequential Graphic Arts delving into many
aspects of the design community. Within my schooling I received many honors
such as The Award for Student Excellence for Part Time Students (1999)
for a 4.0 GPA and making the Dean's List (2001). Now I am searching for
my career in design and sharing what I love to do.
