I'm a big fan of music from all kinds of genres. I dig music from acoustic rock, indie, jam rock, blues, bluegrass, hip-hop, and alt-country. Below you will find some of the artists/bands I like to listen to. Check out their sites and support live music.

Dave Matthews Band - Some Charlottesville, VA band. You've probably never heard of 'em.

Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals - Awesome vocalist and phenomenal guitar player. From standard to lap steel, this man can get down.

G.Love & Special Sauce - This hustler from Philly spits out some funky rhythms and sick guitar riffs. The Hip-Hop Blues are a perfect fit with some Cold Beverages.

John Butler Trio - Born in the US, this Aussie-American has brought new life into the 11 (and 12) string acoustic guitar.

Virginia Coaltion - VACO is "the funkest Band this side of the 33rd parallel", according to Andy, one of the lead singers. This is probably my favorite band to see, from their Go-Go beats to country/bluegrass tunes that Steve says that "they have certain hillbilly obligations to fulfill", this is a band to definitely check out. Steve has left, but VACO 2.0 must go on.

Trey Anastasio - The great guitar player and former frontman of Phish.
Nickel Creek - It's not rock but you can't leave out some good bluegrass music. This band from San Diego, CA composed of mandolin, guitar, and fiddle has been deemed 'Newgrass' by Time Magazine. These guys can do some serioius picking and not to mention great harmonies.

Glen Phillips - The former front man of Toad the Wet Sprocket, Glen plays some great rock tunes. A lil' bluesy at times, the Santa Barbara, CA native has a great new cd out. Though I've yet to see him live, I'm sure he rocks out.

Alison Krauss + Union Station - Need I say more.
Gillian Welch - Talented singer and songwriter from Southern California has some of
best folk/bluegrass/country tunes around. She is a must see with David Rawlings.
guster - Quirky Boston, MA band. Two guitars and congos you can't go wrong.

Robert Randolph & the Family Band - Awesome pedal steel player that takes fuses gospel, rock and r&b.
Jack Johnson - A former surfer turned surf-blues guitarist and singer. Some great music just to mellow out to and feel good about.

O.A.R. - Great band from the Black Rock of Rockville, MD. This band has great shows and great fans to support them. A definite good mix of reggae riffs with rock.

Iron and Wine - Great folk-rock singer/songwriter from Miami that got his start making recordings on a 4 track in his basement.

David Gray - Amazing Singer/Songerwriter from the UK.

Jason Mraz - A Mechanicsville, VA native and self-deemed curbside prophet.
Bluestring - They were a great 6 then 5 piece band from Athens, Georgia. A combination of jazz, bluegrass, and acoustic rock. It seems they too have caught the break up bug. The lead singer Clay Evans was now out on his own, I'm not sure what's going on with him these days.
Worry Stones - Small Arlington, VA band with some catchy tunes.
Brown Couch - The guys in this band can sing their asses off. Not to mention some catchy songs and guitar riffs. Not long after finding this band; they broke up. Luckily, Jeff has started a new band called Down Dexter.
