Operations consisted of u-boat patrols, convoy escorts, reconnaissant flights and photographic reconnaisant patrols.
My Father, Albert Andrew Heighington served as a wireless/air gunner during WW II
Before arriving in Africa, he was stationed in Great Britain. My Aunt Thelma recounts the story of how cold it was in Great Britain. She knit a turtle neck sweater for him and sent it overseas. He received the package in Africa. During his tour of Africa and India, he took photos to send home.
Here is A.A. Heighington in the Jungle in Africa.
200 Squadron formed at Birchan Newton in May 1941, equiped with HUDSONS, and proceeded to Bathurst, Gambia, during the following month.
In the next photo he is in front of a famous Temple in India (notice: no shoes)
