Pages from A.A. Heighington's actual Log Book during July and August 1943. Most WWII veterans never really talked about their role. My Father's photos were sent back to to the young girl who was going to be my Mother. He would address these photos as a tourist in a foreign land. The next excerpt from the Log Book includes a convoy escort with the recording of " BLEW UP LIGHT SHIP WITH .5". This is the real side of war time conditions. I only learned about this by reading my Father's Log Book. Vets, even after the War, did not want to talk about the details of their wartime experiences.

I will update this page with more Photos and Excerpts of A. A. Heighington's Flying Log.

Text Books or History Books have very few if any references to the Battle Front in Burma. I have included a link to an Internet Site dedicated to Remembering this Part of WWII.

Visit this great site on the Burma Theater of WWII
