Project Y.E.L.L. (Youth Endorsing Legal Lifestyles) has immediate openings for five peer leaders in Taunton. The peer leader position is part-time 5hrs/wk for about 20wks during the 2006-2007 school year. Orientation and leadership development training are requirements for this position.

The ideal candidate should:

• Be a high school student between the ages of 14-17
• Posses strong leadership skills
• Have an interest in peer health education and promoting substance free lifestyles
• Motivated to encourage community involvement

 Peer leaders will be assigned to different projects based on their strengths and proficiencies.

Job duties will include but not limited to:

• Making telephone calls to community organizations and businesses
• Creating and designing mailings and activities to promote Project Y.E.LL.
• Implementing MADD Youth in Action activities
• Making presentations to community members, school faculty, staff, local coalitions, and Project Y.E.L.L. Steering Committee members
• Attending several different community meetings
• Conducting and participating in focus groups

 Peer leaders will be encouraged to present new ideas and be creative and unique in their work.
