The original Captain 11 set
and uniform from March 1955,
including Time Converter.
KELO TV engineers raided an old
pinball machine for set parts.
Captain 11 is pointing to the
V.C. Control (Variable Confuser).
KELO-TV donated the final Captain 11 set to the
South Dakota Historical Museum in Pierre.

The panel on the left held keys to the Captain's
Toy Chest.  The chest is visible underneath.

The dark panel on the lower right featured
colored jewels and switches that were operated
by crewmembers celebrating their birthdays.
Note the Jumbo Tootsie Roll bottom center right.
Close-up of the 1966 Time Converter.
The center logo was originally backlit
and  was a window  through which you
were supposed to see Captain 11's
futuristic home.  However, the effect
didn't work on camera and a photo of
Captain 11 was added  (seen here).
One final modification to this set
occured when the Captain's photo was
replaced with a highly visible "11".
Large cartoon panels were placed on
the set by 1966.  Crewmembers sat in
front of these panels during the show.
Captain 11's  headphones were part of the original uniform.  However, Dave quit
wearing them during the late 1970's.
