Dave Dedrick's voice was the first
to be heard when the station began
broadcasting on May 19, 1953.
Dedrick first worked on KELO AM
at the age of 15. He later hosted
the "New Day Show" for 17 years.

Wally Wingert is an old friend
from Washington High School and
a KELO AM alumnus. He's a gifted
entertainer and one of the nation's
leading voice talents.
Jon has hosted more dance parties
than Dick Clark. He's been a fixture
at KELO AM for over 20 years.
Every boy growing up in the 1960's
wanted to be Batman. The campy
series featuring Adam West and
Burt Ward broke TV ratings records in 1966. Adam's website celebrates
all the best from the classic series.
One of my most treasured toys as
a young boy was Captain Action.
He has become one of the most
collectible toys of the 1960's.
ABC TV aired this 90 minute movie in 1972. Darren McGavin starred as
crusty newspaper reporter turned
vampire-hunter Carl Kolchak.
It scared the blazes out of me!
My childhood TV heroes
included Captain 11,
Captain Action and Captain Kirk.

I spent hours building these classic
model kits of Universal's Famous
Monsters. I remember watching
many of the old Universal movies
on KELO TV's Midnight Macabre.
