4.1 How the
Story is conveyed
The script is an important part of the process as it lets you
plan out how the animation will be performed give indications
of time. It will also show the story in images and can point
out weaknesses or unnessesary sections in the story. That is
why a storyboard should be created. It can be as detailed or
as rough as you want but as long as it tells you the story without
the use of words.
4.2 Stage and
Camera Directions
As well as the story in images you will also have to consider
the camera position and if it moves within a scene or if it stays
in one place. It must also show all the key movements of the
character and the directions of the movements. Think of it as
making it clear enough that a stranger could come and make the
animation to the way you want it by only looking at your storyboard.
4.3 Lighting
of the Scenes
Lighting of the scenes should also feature in the storyboard
as this can help create mood, atmosphere which may be vital to
the understanding of the animation.
4.4 Mood and
Expression of the Characters
When creatingthe storyboard it's also important to show the characters
moods and expressions. This will not only help to convey the
story at an early stage but it will also be usefull when it comes
the the animation stages.
4.5 Script of
the Characters
As with the images of the character you can also make notes to
acompany the images such as the stage directions of the character,
the dialogue of the characters, the time for the shot and any
other usefull information that will help at the later stages
of the animation.
