This Indenture made this 4th day of April, 1817 between Thomas C. Carrithers and Sarah his wife, now in the county of Jefferson and State of Kentucky, of the one part and Nathaniel P.
Wood of the other part- whereas a certain tract, or parcel of land lying and being in the county of Shelby, and the state aforesaid, was entered and surveyed for four hundred acres in the
name of James Patten and patented to and in the name of Hardy Hill, but contained four hundred and forty-seven acres, whereas the said one of the daughters of the said Hardy Hill by reason of
his death and will made the 17th day of December 1798 and recorded in the County Court of Shelby County aforesaid is entitled to one undivided eighth part of the said tract or parcel
of land which lies on Salt River, encumbered by and with the dower of the widow of the said Hardy Hill, and that the said Thomas and Sarah have sold all their right, title in said estate
and fee in and to said four hundred forty- seven acres of land with the appurtenances to said Wood and his heirs and assigns, subject to dower aforesaid for two hundred eighty-eight dollars
and have agreed to warrant and defend to the said Wood, his heirs and assigns forever one equal undivided eighth part of three hundred and thirty acres of the said four hundred and forty-seven acres of land against all persons ad?quit their claims to the residue thereof to the said Wood, his heirs and assigns forever: now, therefore this Indenture witnesseth that the said Thomas and Sarah in consideration of the premises and the said sum of two hundred and eighty-eight dollars currency money of the United States to them in hand paid by the said Nathaniel B. Wood, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold, aliened, enfeoffed, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien, convey unto said Thomas and Sarah, his wife, of, in and to the said four hundred and forty-seven acres, be the same more or less with all the appurtenances.

Adam C. Stallard, eighty-three years old, who has been blind for fifteen years, died at 2 o'clock Friday night at his home near Finchville, Kentucky. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Miller Stallard; three sons, Edward, Clarence and Thomas Stallard and two sisters, Mrs. R. B. T. Smith and Miss Cora Lee Stallard. Funeral services will be held at 3 'oclock Sunday afternoon at Grove Hill Chapel, Shelbyville. Burial will be in Shelbyville Cemetery.
